APE Manual Cam Chain Tensioners for Vintage Applications
A Must for any kind of performance riding. APE manual cam chain tensioner are CNC machined
from billet alloy to exact tolerances for perfect fit. Designed to replace the automatic and hydraulic
tensioner on high performance engines. The automatic adjusters can back out when the throttle is
suddenly closed at high rpm. This allows the cams to go momentarily out
of time and can result in bent valves and/or serious engine damage. Hydraulic tensioner have a
tendency to put too much tension on the chain guide under high rpm/high oil pressure conditions
resulting in premature wear. Both problems can be eliminated with the installation of the APE
manual cam chain tensioner. No matter what the engine does, the cam chain tensioner will remain

APE Kawasaki Cam Chain Idler Adapter
This adapter allows the use of later model GPz 1100 or KZ1000J
cylinder head on earlier model KZ900/KZ1000 lower end. It maintains
the roller style cam chain. This is the only modification necessary to
install the big valve head on early motor. Use with OEM KZ sprockets
or high performance aftermarket versions.
